WeRide has launched a new brand logo that represents a renewed commitment to the company values, reaffirming WeRide’s vision to transform mobility with safe, efficient, affordable, and clean autonomous driving.

The new logo has added two more colors to the existing teal design — blue and gray. With a high color saturation pallet, the logo highlights the brands’ ethos of looking towards a future mobilized by Level 4 autonomous driving.

These new colors accentuate the “W” of “We”, highlighting WeRide’s brand identity as a people focused service. Also, the font strokes are heftier, representing WeRide’s principles of safety and stability.

New Mobility Revolution

In the history of humanity, civilization has undergone two mobility revolutions. In early times, humans relied on animals to transport goods and move from place to place. Later, technological advancements meant humans could rely on machines instead. Today, we are entering a new era where artificial intelligence is transforming how we traverse between point A and point B, and autonomous driving is the most innovative development in AI-supported transportation.

The COVID-19 pandemic highlights the need for driverless technology as a method to reduce virus transmission. As a leading autonomous driving company, it is WeRide’s responsibility to lead this third wave of the mobility revolution. WeRide will bring safe and reliable driverless technology to heighten the health, safety, and convenience of travelers everywhere.

A Sustainable and Shared Future

In September 2015, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The initiative consists of 17 goals aimed at achieving a higher quality and more sustainable future for all by 2030. One of the goals calls for sustainable cities and communities, including the provision of safe, affordable, and sustainable transport systems.

Autonomous driving (AD) is critical to achieving this sustainable development goal. AD is an accessible, data driven mobility option and will improve road safety by controlling for human error, which is believed to account for 95% of all road accidents.

Residents in many cities around the world have already experienced this futuristic mode of transportation. Their positive experiences will help build trust and encourage more people to embrace this new technology. WeRide will keep perfecting the autonomous driving technology to bring this smart mobility option to more people.

The world’s urban population is growing at an exponential rate. According to the U.N., by 2050, 68% of the world’s population will live in urban areas.

In the future, megacities with populations of over 50 million people will be common as more and more people migrate to live in cities. Population density there will be significantly higher than our current urban centers. Autonomous driving will be key to ensuring that these metropolises function efficiently and safely.

At the same time, more cities empowered by autonomous driving make it possible to return land to nature, creating spaces where natural ecosystems can flourish.
