WeRide’s Mass-produced ADAS Solution Named to “Top 10 Smart Car Technology Solutions/Products of 2024” List As the Only L4 Autonomous Driving Company

WeRide (NASDAQ: WRD), a global leader in autonomous driving technology, today announced its WePilot Intelligent Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems Solution was named to the “Top 10 Smart Car Technology Solutions/Product List” released by leading Chinese automotive technology publication AI4Auto (智能车参考). WeRide’s solution was listed alongside those from top global OEMs like Tesla, BYD, XPeng Motors, Li Auto, and NIO, as the only commercial, end-to-end, map-free, full-scenario Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS) solution provided by an L4 autonomous driving technology company, showcasing WeRide’s technical and product prowess in intelligent driving.

In addition, WeRide’s founder and CEO, Dr. Tony Han, was named a Top 10 “Person of the Year” in the Smart Car field, joining industry leaders including Tongyue Yin, chairman of Chery Automobile Co., Ltd, Chery Group; Jun Lei, co-founder, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi; and Xiang Li, founder, executive director, CEO and Chairman of Li Auto.

AI4Auto, which presented the awards, is one of the most influential media outlets in China’s intelligent vehicle sector. Its annual year-end list, Top 10 Smart Car Technology Solutions/Product List, attracted participation from dozens of leading OEMs and mainstream suppliers of autonomous driving technology, covering core domains including power batteries, intelligent driving solutions, in-vehicle chips, LiDAR, and smart cockpits. The competition was fiercer than in previous years, reflecting the further advancement of China’s automotive industry towards intelligence.

In May 2024, the two companies successfully mass-produced and delivered multiple functions, including NEP City Pilot, covering the entire product line of the Exeed Star Era ES and ET, once again setting a delivery speed record.

In November 2024, the advanced intelligent driving solution was officially upgraded to an “end-to-end map-free” mode. This system not only features advanced capabilities like intelligent three-point turns, zero-speed activation, and autonomous ETC passage, but also deeply integrates driving and parking functions. It enables comprehensive point-to-point travel across urban, highway, and parking scenarios. Additionally, it offers unique features such as remote parking and HPA multi-level memory parking.

To verify its reliability and advancement, ,Tongyue Yin, chairman of Chery; Xinhua Gao, executive vice president of Chery and CTO of Chery automobile engineering technology R&D institute; Dr. Tony Han, founder and CEO of WeRide; and renowned media personality Pei Wu conducted the first live-streaming test on the streets of Guangzhou. The vehicle navigates complex urban environments with ease. It efficiently performs a series of functions, including automatic lane changing, obstacle avoidance, and traffic signal recognition.
